“Ukraine. War. Texts” a set of stage readings of contemporary Ukrainian plays

  • In cooperation with NUATU (National Union of Theatre Aryists of Ukraine) and Worldwide Ukrainian Play Readings of John Freedman
  • 3 sets of “Ukraine. War. Texts” in 2022
  • More than 20 texts of established Ukrainian playwrights (Neda Nezhdana…) and new names (Volodymyr Serdiuk…)
  • Engaging directors from Ukraine, the USA, Poland, Great Britain, Australia, Portugal, Nigeria and India
  • Recorded versions of stage readings of “Ukraine. War. Texts” are available at online theatre platform of Scenesaver
  • Some of the stage readings (like “Люби мене не покинь” by Olga Annenko made it into the repertoir of state theatre TUG)

Normally “Ukraine. War. Texts” are presented within two days:

Day 1. Ukrainian Day. Presenyation of  contemporary Ukrainian plays staged in Kyiv in Ukrainian

Day 2. International Day. Presentation of contemporary Ukrainian plays translated into English, staged by international directors who have been working with Ukrainian actors over zoom

All stage readings are presented for live audience and streamed online

DAN Vynohradov

Dan graduated from Kyiv University of Culture, he is a theatre and film actor. While studying at the university, Dan acted in TV series and commercials. Since January 2022, acts at ProEnglish Theatre. Dan is a brave and ambitious actor, never afraid of tough roles. Played a gay soldier in “Love at times” and several various characters in “War. Texts. Ukraine.” project – stage readings of modern Ukrainian plays in English. His biggest part so far is HE, main character from “Naïve Experiments” directed by Alex Borovenskiy. Charismatic and vulnerable HE wins the hearts of the audience with the first appearance on stage.
